here to see our selection of Mission oak furniture.
Stickley’s mission oak furniture was frequently constructed using American oak and the term “mission” has since been applied to his early styles. Other prominent designers from the Movement include Frank Lloyd Wright and his “prairie” style. American brothers Charles Sumner Greene and Henry Mather Greene (Greene and Greene) were influential architects. Primarily in California, their bungalow houses and larger-scale ultimate bungalows perfectly reflect the Arts and Crafts movement. Mission oak furniture continues to be a popular choice in
surviving Arts and Crafts-style homes and elsewhere. The honesty, simplicity,
and usefulness of the designs make them ever-fashionable. |
